SA Express is no longer in operation.

You used to be able to make an SA Express booking using the flight booking tool at the top of this page. SA Express operates flights to a range of 12 South African destinations and regional destinations in Namibia, Botswana, and the DRC.

SA Express flights combine comfort, convenience and time savings of direct regional routes. An additional benefit is you earn SAA Voyager rewards on flysaexpress flights.

Cheapest SA Express Flights

Flights used to start from as little as R450 one way! It’s no surprise that the number of tickets at this price was limited and they sold out quickly. We recommended you book your flights as far in advance as possible. Flight ticket prices change constantly as seats are sold.

Regional: 50 minutes before departure
Domestic: 30 minutes before departure

SA Express Boarding Gate Closure Times

It is very important that you arrive at the boarding gate on time. SA Express boarding gates close 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time on domestic flights and 20 minutes for regional flights.

Passengers who fail to present themselves at the boarding gate before the stipulated time for closure will be denied boarding without compensation.

SA Express Cabin Baggage

SA Express allows one piece of cabin baggage per passenger. The cabin baggage must not exceed a total dimension of 115cm and 7kg in weight.

For safety reasons, carry on baggage must be placed either in the overhead luggage locker or under the seat in front of you.

SAExpress offers a luggage service called Skycheck. This is the airline’s special hand luggage facility that assists with in-flight comfort, speedy boarding. When boarding you will see a Skycheck cart at the boarding steps of the aircraft. Simply place any hand luggage that will not be required during the flight onto the Skycheck cart. Items placed in the Skycheck cart will be waiting for you as you disembark from the aircraft at your destination.
